{"id":105,"date":"2010-02-27T23:09:21","date_gmt":"2010-02-27T22:09:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/dfb.funimag.com\/?page_id=105"},"modified":"2014-10-29T18:33:03","modified_gmt":"2014-10-29T17:33:03","slug":"furka-oberalp","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/dfb.funimag.com\/index.php\/history\/furka-oberalp\/","title":{"rendered":"Furka &#8211; Oberalp"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><strong>Furka &#8211; Oberalp<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>In 1925, a new society, the \u00ab Furka-Oberalp Railway \u00bb, restarted the works which were stopped and the 4th July 1926 the line Brig-Gletsch-Realp-Andermatt-Disentis was completely finished and inaugurated. For the first time a train can go from the Rhone valley to the Rhin valley.<br \/>\nThe line has a length of 96,67 km, with both adhesion and 35,5 km rack sections. The principal points of the line: Brig 672m, Lax 1048m, M\u00fcster 1362m, Oberwald 1369m, Gletsch 1762m, Furka tunnel 2118m, Realp 1541m, Andermatt 1439m, Oberalp pass 2048m, Sedrun 1444m, Disentis\/Muster 1133m.<br \/>\nIn 1942, all the line was completely electrified. The problem was that the section Oberwald-Realp was only used between June and October during the summer months. The other sections (Brig-Oberwald and Realp-Disentis) were used during all the year after a lot of works along the line to prevent from the avalanches.<br \/>\nIn 1971, it was decided to pierce a 15,4 km tunnel under the Furka pass, from Oberwald to Realp. From 1973 to 1982, quite ten years were necessary to achieve the Furka tunnel!<br \/>\nAfter the inauguration of the tunnel the Furka-Oberalp railway was able to use the entire line all over the year without any interruption but with only 22 km of cogged sections.<br \/>\nSo, the section Oberwald-Realp (length 18 km, with 13,5 km of cogged sections) became unused.<\/p>\n<p><em><strong>Furka &#8211; Oberalp<\/strong><\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>En 1925, la nouvelle compagnie \u00ab Furka-Oberalp Railway \u00bb repris les travaux qui avaient \u00e9t\u00e9 arr\u00eat\u00e9s et le 4 Juillet 1926 la ligne Brig-Gletsch-Realp-Andermatt-Disentis fut achev\u00e9e et inaugur\u00e9e. Pour la premi\u00e8re fois un train pouvait relier la vall\u00e9e du Rh\u00f4ne \u00e0 la vall\u00e9e du Rhin.<br \/>\nLa ligne a une longueur de 96,7 km, elle est mixte, adh\u00e9rence et cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re (35,5 km de sections \u00e0 cr\u00e9maill\u00e8re Abt). Les points principaux de la ligne: Brig 672m, Lax 1048m, M\u00fcster 1362m, Oberwald 1369m, Gletsch 1762m, tunnel de la Furka 2118m, Realp 1541m, Andermatt 1439m, col d&#8217;Oberalp 2048m, Sedrun 1444m, Disentis\/Muster 1133m.<br \/>\nEn 1942, la ligne enti\u00e8re fut \u00e9lectrifi\u00e9e. Le principal probl\u00e8me \u00e9tait que le tron\u00e7on Oberwald-Realp ne pouvait \u00eatre mis en service que de Juin \u00e0 Octobre durant les moi d&#8217;\u00e9t\u00e9 \u00e0 cause de l&#8217;enneigement durant les autres mois. Les autres tron\u00e7ons (Brig-Oberwald et Realp-Disentis) pouvaient \u00eatre exploit\u00e9s tout au long de l&#8217;ann\u00e9e apr\u00e8s beaucoup d&#8217;interventions afin d&#8217;\u00e9viter les avalanches.<br \/>\nEn 1971, la d\u00e9cision fut prise de percer un tunnel de 15,4km sous le col de la Furka, de Oberwald \u00e0 Realp.
